As a control group, the researchers were allowed to access over 500,000 anonymized health records from the province. The intervention group comprised over 19,000 members of the medical fitness facilities of the wellness institute and the Reh-Fit-Center.

The study showed that:

  • Members of the medical fitness facility had one 60 percent lower overall mortality risk during the first 651 days and 48 percent less after 651 days.

  • Membership was also with a. tied together 13 percent lower risk of hospital admission.

  • Medical fitness members who attended more frequently (3 or more visits per week) had an even lower hospitalization rate.
