Joey Essex: Mourning and I: “I just want to cuddle him” – viewers watch “in pieces” a heartbreaking documentary about the suicide of the star’s mother

Inconsolable fans of Joey Essex have praised the reality TV star for courageously opening up about his mother’s suicide.

Joey’s mother Tina tragically committed suicide at the age of 10 and the TV personality has never talked about what happened.

The star discussed how his mother’s death affected his life in the documentary Joey Essex: Grief and Me, which aired Thursday (June 3) at 9 p.m. on BBC One.

After the heartbreaking documentary, fans used social media to praise Joey for telling his story.

One person said, “I shouldn’t have watched the Joey Essex program that got me to pieces.”

Another viewer said, “Whatever you think of reality TV stars as a genre, you can’t watch Joey Essex without seeing a really real, empathetic young man, really real heart, and a little bit of a lost soul to help, but I just want to hug him. I’m already torn to pieces .. “

A third added, “I’m a mom and Nan breaks my heart for you, Joey, but keep up the great documentary. This will help so many with similar pain x.”

Joey had spoken openly about his mother’s death only a few times before the show aired.

For the first few years Joey appeared in TOWIE, he touched on his mother’s suicide but couldn’t go into details. He was seen discussing the tragedy with his cousin Chloe Sims, whose entire family gathered to help Joey, Frankie and their father Donny after they died, ”Essex reports Live.

In various interviews since then, Joey and Frankie have spoken about their mother’s suicide and the reasons for it.

When Joey was little, his mother Tina developed an infection called candida, a yeast infection that can cause symptoms such as stomach problems, fatigue, joint pain, and depression.

Frankie has told The Mirror in the past how the infection affected her mother, how she couldn’t eat certain foods, and how she kept going to the doctors for more tests.

Frankie also said that her mother didn’t seek help because of her depression, as it was “embarrassing” to talk to people about counseling at the time.

One day, on a Friday, Tina took Joey and Frankie to school as usual, but that was the last time they saw their mother. Then she went shopping and later spoke briefly to Frankie on the phone about dinner.

Frankie and Joey later learned from their father that their mother had died. They heard the terrible news at their mother’s house, and Chloe Sims and her mother were also there.

Her family couldn’t bear to tell the kids the truth, so they told them she had fallen and not strong enough to survive. The truth was she hanged herself in a hotel room.
