A woman became the mother of three children in just one year after having identical twins immediately after her daughter.
Emma Geairns, 34, gave birth to twins Noah and Arthur just two days after their daughter Harlow’s first birthday in February 2021.
The twins, now nine months old, and Harlow, who is 21 months old, came after Emma was told that due to the alignment of the cervix and uterus, she had very little chance of natural conception.
Emma, who works in real estate development, and her husband Jamie, 32, who lives in Poole, Dorset, fathered Harlow after a year of trying.
Emma said, “We actually decided to take a break after a year and spend the summer drinking and having fun.

“Shortly afterwards I found out that I was pregnant for the first time.
“Then, according to Harlow, we figured it would take forever again, especially after what the doctors told me.
“But it was literally the first time we had sex since I was born, and I was pregnant again.”
Emma was 25 when she was told by doctors that she had a very slim chance of conceiving naturally.
She said, “It was something that came up after a swab test. They said the way my cervix and uterus are aligned makes it very unlikely.
“Back then I left it and decided to focus on my career, but when I met my husband we decided we wanted to give it a try.
“My friends always tell me you are the friend we tell others about.
“I was told I probably couldn’t have children, and then I had three in a year.”
However, the twins’ pregnancy did not go entirely smoothly.
She said, “At first I thought it was just a baby.
“I started bleeding early in the pregnancy, and I and the doctors assumed I had a miscarriage.
“I went to see the doctors, essentially to make sure everything was gone and that I was fine.
“But they told me I had not only one healthy fetus, but two!”
Emma says Jamie didn’t believe her when she first told him.
She said, “Because of the coronavirus, he wasn’t allowed to go to the doctors with me.
“I was so shocked and overwhelmed that they told me I had twins when I thought I had lost a baby.
“I came to the car crying and he tried to comfort me and said we could try again and everything.
“When I told him they were twins, he thought I was kidding.”
Emma and Jamie currently have no plans to have any more children.
She said, “It is really manic to have three children under the age of two.
“It’s amazing, but it’s hard work.
“We are very blessed to have three healthy children and I am so happy and thankful.”
